Attendance was way down the most recent ‘No Kings‘ protest held at the Colorado State Capitol’s east steps on June 14, 2026, which was exactly 1 year after the first ‘No Kings,’ which coincided with both President Donald Trump’s birthday and Flag Day. Estimated attendance was approximately 100 with no more than 500 people flowing through the event during the 4 hours of being open from 12 pm to 4 pm. The crowd on the west side of the State Capitol after 4 pm for the campaign of Melat Kiros for Congress was much larger. Compare that 200 number with the estimated 30,000 that were at the ‘No Kings‘ protest on October 18, 2025 and the 10,000 estimated at the March 28, 2026 event. Hard to imagine that there will be another ‘No Kings‘ protest. Also in comparison to the October event, there was not a march most likely due to not funding for a permit for police protection and the organizers chose to use the east steps where there is less space for over-flow into adjacent Lincoln Park or Civic Center Park.

To gauge any improvement from the October 2025 event, Colorado People’s News asked both events if anyone had held a government official accountable to the laws of their duties.

No progress has been made. When an attorney was asked the question, he stated that their strategy was to change the norms of the culture and not worry about the lawlessness of the politicians of both major parties. This strategy is what has brought us societal decay, extreme housing prices and coinciding property taxes, and mass homelessness as a few. The politicians’ lawlessness connecting to societal ills will be explained in later stories. Some tried to push back that it was not all politicians. I invite those to read the facts on future stories and check out the bribes given to the lawless politicians on followthemoney.org and the Colorado Secretary of State’s very cumbersome TRACER. You will be surprised that more money is being dumped directly to them for the purpose of violating laws.

Everybody asked at the event stated that there were no direct changes in policy or actions and no, Trump has not resigned. A couple of attorneys stated that the number of people attending the ‘No Kings‘ events had continued to grow. The lack of crowd in front of their faces proved otherwise.

I may have been the only reporter at this event. The people that I had conversations with seemed to be more open to holding their local and state politicians accountable to the laws of their duties, which is the change necessary to make a more perfect union.
